La parte de educación cívica es un examen oral en inglés que forma parte de la entrevista de naturalización con un oficial de USCIS.

Versión 2025

Hasta 20 preguntas de un banco de 128. Debes responder bien al menos 12.

Versión 2008

10 preguntas de un banco de 100. Debes acertar 6.

Si presentaste el N-400 el 20 de octubre de 2025 o después, la versión 2025. Si fue antes, la versión 2008.

Regla 65/20

Con 65 años o más y 20 años o más como residente permanente, estudias solo las 20 preguntas con asterisco, en el idioma que elijas. Te hacen 10 y aciertas 6.

Algunas respuestas cambian con elecciones o nombramientos (presidente, vicepresidente, presidente de la Cámara, presidente de la Corte Suprema, senadores, gobernador). Debes dar el nombre del funcionario que esté en el cargo el día de tu entrevista. Consulta la lista actualizada en uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre el examen de ciudadanía

Respuesta breve: el banco de la versión 2025 tiene 128 preguntas. En la entrevista te hacen hasta 20 y necesitas 12 correctas.

El oficial deja de preguntar cuando llegas a 12 respuestas correctas o a 9 incorrectas. Antes (versión 2008) eran 10 preguntas de un banco de 100, con 6 correctas para aprobar.

Respuesta breve: forma parte de la entrevista de naturalización e incluye una prueba de educación cívica y una prueba de inglés.

La parte cívica es oral, con preguntas sobre el gobierno y la historia de EE. UU. En la prueba de inglés el oficial evalúa que puedas hablar, leer y escribir frases sencillas. Este simulador practica solo la parte de educación cívica.

Respuesta breve: la versión 2025 se aplica a quienes presentan el formulario N-400 el 20 de octubre de 2025 o después.

Quienes presentaron el N-400 antes de esa fecha siguen con la versión 2008, de 100 preguntas.

Respuesta breve: sí, es parte de la prueba de inglés de la entrevista.

El oficial te pide leer y escribir frases sencillas en inglés. Este simulador no incluye esa parte; USCIS publica las listas de vocabulario oficiales en uscis.gov/citizenship.

Por eso este simulador muestra las preguntas en inglés y ofrece la traducción en español solo como ayuda para estudiar. Los solicitantes que cumplen la regla 65/20 pueden hacer el examen en el idioma de su elección.

Si es tu caso, practica con el simulador de la versión 2008 (100 preguntas). Para los demás, la versión vigente es la de 128 preguntas.
